Sail Loot Podcast 021: Pizza π Vi – A Pizza Sailboat in Paradise

By on April 9, 2015

Is anybody hungry? Are you out on the water enjoying your sailboat in the Virgin Islands and don’t really feel like cooking? Sasha and Tara have found a solution for you. That solution is their brilliant idea of serving you the best New York Pizza in the Caribbean from the service window of their sailboat, π.

That’s right, Sasha and Tara decided to start a floating restaurant, Pizza π VI (or Pizza-Pi-VI if you so choose). Sasha is not only an MIT graduate, a captain, and a computer wiz, but he is also now an entrepreneur and co-owner of a sailboat restaurant with his wife Tara. Tara’s resume is quite impressive as well. She was a special education teacher turned SCUBA instructor, and is also an award-winning yacht chef.

I had the pleasure of touching base with Sasha for this episode of the Sail Loot Podcast. It seems as if I was able to give Sasha a break from his entrepreneurial duties…taxes. Isn’t that one of those things that’s certain in life? Don’t worry, he was making some dough (literally – or maybe what I should say is that this is not a metaphor for money…or is it?) and was in his sailboat, in the beautiful anchorage of Christmas Cove. If you have to work…work in paradise right?
