Sail Loot Podcast 002: Cruising with Jamie, Behan, and the Totem Crew

By on October 16, 2014

More cruisers from the Bainbridge Island area! In this episode I have the pleasure of talking with Jamie and Behan Gifford from Totem. They’ve been cruising as a family with their kids Niall, Mairen, and Siobhan since 2008. Jamie and Behan met racing sailboats in 1988, and the rest, as they say, is history. In no particular order, they got married, moved to Washington, had kids, and decided it was time to move their family to a boat and start cruising the world!

Jamie and Behan took some time out of their morning to share their sailing and cruising knowledge with us. We talk about their cruising experiences, how they keep some sailing money in their cruising kitty,  and they explain how they got themselves, their family, and their boat ready to cruise the open ocean. They have made their boat, Totem, into a home for their family of five and they love sharing their experiences.

You can check out the Totem Crew’s blog at SailingTotem.com. They love to hear from their readers so go ahead and subscribe to their email list or get in touch.  Sailing Totem is also on Facebook and Twitter if you want to chat with them there! It is free to you, but Jamie and Behan get a little bit of beer money when you read their posts on SailFeed.  You can also check out their regular column in the 48 North Sailing Magazine.

Enjoy!
